Directions to the Phoenix School
It's a bit tricky to find our building, so it might be a good idea to print these directions before you visit us!

Please double check your route using a road map, since these directions may not be 100% accurate! These are not necessarily the shortest routes, but the simplest.

From Atlanta: Red map route

Head east on Ponce de Leon Avenue. Turn right onto East Lake Drive (a few blocks east of Clifton). Follow East Lake Drive as it passes under the Marta tracks, continuing a few more blocks until the road curves sharply to the left in front of the Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Enter the parking lot at the second driveway on the right marked "Phoenix School entrance."

From Winnona Park/Candler Rd. /Columbia Dr.: Purple map route

Head north on Candler Road or Columbia Drive, then turn left onto E. College Ave. Continue on E. College for several blocks. E. College does not intersect with East Lake Drive! Instead, turn left onto Park Place where the left lane of E. College turns into a left turn lane. Follow Park Place around the curve, then turn right at the light onto East Lake Drive. Continue a few blocks until the road curves sharply to the left in front of the Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Enter the parking lot at the second driveway on the right marked "Phoenix School entrance."

From South Decatur and I-20: Blue map route

Heading west on I-20: take Exit 32 and turn right onto Flat Shoals Road. Heading east on I-20: take Exit 32, cross Gresham Road, then turn left onto Flat Shoals Road.

Turn right onto 2nd Avenue. Continue several miles north until 2nd Avenue dead-ends into East Lake Drive at the Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Turn right onto East Lake Drive, then enter the parking lot at the second driveway on the right marked "Phoenix School entrance."

From Downtown Decatur, North Decatur, Emory (and I-85): Gold map route

From I-85 or the north Decatur area, head south on Clairmont Road/Avenue to downtown Decatur. (From Emory, take Clifton Road south; turn left onto North Decatur, then right onto Clairmont).

Heading into downtown Decatur, follow Clairmont Avenue to the intersection with Commerce Drive. Turn right onto Commerce Drive. When Commerce dead ends into W. Howard Ave., turn right. Continue on W. Howard for several blocks. W. Howard does not intersect with East Lake Drive! Instead, turn right onto Paden Circle. Follow Paden Circle around the curve, then turn right at the light onto East Lake Drive, passing under the Marta bridge. Continue several blocks until the road curves sharply to the left in front of the Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Enter the parking lot at the second driveway on the right marked "Phoenix School entrance."

From DeKalb Medical Center, Devry or Avondale Estates: Green map route

From Devry or DeKalb Medical Center, head south on Winn Way, turn right onto North Arcadia and continue south, crossing over the train tracks (Sam's Crossing). Turn right on E. College Ave. (From Avondale Estates, head west on E. College.)

Continue on E. College for several miles, passing Agnes Scott College. E. College does not intersect with East Lake Drive! Instead, turn left onto Park Place where the left lane of E. College turns into a left turn lane. Follow Park Place around the curve, then turn right at the light onto East Lake Drive. Continue a few blocks until the road curves sharply to the left in front of the Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Enter the parking lot at the second driveway on the right marked "Phoenix School entrance."

Entering the Building: all routes

The Phoenix School is located at 415 East Lake Drive, in the 3-story red-brick Oakhurst Presbyterian Church building on the corner of East Lake Drive and 2nd Avenue. Drive down the school entrance driveway on East Lake Drive, then curve right and head up the hill into the upper parking lot. The entrance to the Phoenix School is at the back of the building facing the parking lot, under the canopy. Enter at the beige double doors; inside is a locked blue door with a keypad lock and an intercom. Press the intercom button, and someone in the office will answer and let you in.
